Big return to Morocco: Wydad in talks with former Kaizer Chiefs coach
Moroccan sports club Wydad are holding substantive talks with former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi over his return to the Botola Pro championship.
Details: According to sports journalist Lorenz Köhler, the Casablanca giants see the 61-year-old Tunisian as the ideal candidate for the vacant coaching position. The club’s bosses are counting on the coach’s immense international reputation and his in-depth understanding of African football to return the team to the top of the table.
The coach himself is open to returning to a familiar league and has already held an initial round of consultations with the Moroccan side. The parties are expected to discuss the composition of the coaching staff and the transfer budget for the upcoming transfer windows, after which the experienced manager’s appointment will be officially announced.
It is worth noting that Nasreddine Nabi already has a successful track record in Moroccan football, having managed capital club FAR Rabat and challenged for the league title until the final matchday. During his coaching career, the Tunisian has won league titles in Tanzania and the DR Congo on several occasions, as well as overseeing a rebuilding project at Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa.
