French biathlete Julia Simon was found to have stolen her friend's credit card and went on a shopping spree, spending over a thousand euros.

As reported by La Stampa, the athlete has been fined and ordered to compensate for the damages. The investigation is being conducted by the prosecution in the city of Albertville.

Taking advantage of her friendship and cohabitation with a fellow biathlete, Julia Simon stole her colleague's credit card. Subsequently, the biathlete made numerous purchases on online stores specializing in sportswear and accessories.

The fraudulent purchase was traced by Italian operators of the Police and Customs Cooperation Center in the city of Modane, who managed to identify the buyer.

It's worth noting that the International Biathlon Union has indefinitely suspended former president Anders Besseberg from holding positions within the organization.
