“Best day of my life!” Alan Shearer's daughter announces engagement

Hollie Shearer, the daughter of Alan Shearer—Premier League's all-time top scorer—shared exciting news with her fans. In an Instagram post, she announced her engagement to rugby star Joe Marchant.

The 28-year-old rugby player proposed to his beloved in the most romantic setting possible—during an evening stroll in Paris. The couple shared a photo together with the iconic Eiffel Tower as their backdrop.

“BEST DAY EVER!! Got to say yes to my favourite person.” Hollie wrote on her Instagram page.

It’s known that the couple has been together for over two years. They confirmed their relationship in April 2022, just four months after they started dating. Alan Shearer, the legendary footballer, seems to fully support his daughter’s choice, leaving a comment on Hollie’s post with heart and applause emojis.

Joe Marchant is currently playing in France for the club Stade Français. Previously, he was part of the English side Harlequins, with whom he won the Premiership title in the 2020/21 season. He also boasts 27 caps for the England national team, which secured third place at the 2023 World Cup.
