Benson Omalla, a striker from Kenya, has returned to Gor Mahia FC for his third stay with the team after leaving Al-Safa FC in Lebanon. However, his International Transfer Certificate's (ITC) approval is still pending his return.

At 19 goals in the 2023–24 Kenyan Premier League season, Omalla ended as the league's top scorer during his last stint at Gor Mahia. His return is expected to boost Gor Mahia’s attack, with the club currently sitting third in the FKF-Premier League table with 36 points. Until his ITC is approved, Omalla can train and play friendly matches but cannot feature in official fixtures.

Gor Mahia’s Transfer Moves

The reigning FKF-Premier League champions have made significant transfer moves ahead of the deadline, securing key signings to bolster their squad. Among the new arrivals are:

  • Ben Stanley Omondi (Kakamega Homeboyz)
  • Patrick Essombe (Cameroon)
  • Charles Bbaale (Uganda, Rayon Sports)
  • Sydney Ogutu (Kibra United)
  • Gispard Mavongou (Congo, AS Otoho)
  • Faiz Ouma Opande (USA-based Harambee Stars U23 center-back)

Expectations are high for Mavoungou, Bbaale, and Essombe to turn around Gor Mahia's woes, therefore their arrival will be eagerly observed.

In the upcoming weeks, all eyes will be on Omalla's ITC approval and the effects of the new signings as Gor Mahia continues to contend for the league crown.
