Benjamin Asare Confident Accra Hearts of Oak Can Still Win 2025/26 Ghana Premier League
Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare insists his side can still challenge for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title following a crucial 1-0 victory over rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The Phobians secured the hard-fought win despite playing with ten men in the Super Clash at the Baba Yara Stadium. Baba Adamu’s first-half header proved decisive, helping Hearts of Oak close the gap on league leaders Medeama SC. Reflecting on their title ambitions,
Asare said: “Yes, anyone can still win it. If you look at the top four or five teams, it’s all about determination on the field. If we continue to win our matches, we have a great chance.”He added:
"Winning the league would be a huge opportunity for us, and I believe most of the players deserve it. This win today will help us be more aggressive and focused in our upcoming matches."
The victory lifts Hearts of Oak to third place with 39 points. They will aim to maintain their momentum when they host Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium in Matchday 23.
