Benin: "This is a result that should wake the players up," Gernot Rohr says after the defeat against the Stallions

After Benin's 3-0 defeat to Burkina Faso on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia, coach Gernot Rohr offered his analysis, marked by a call for a reaction just weeks before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Rohr considers this setback a strong signal for the team's preparation for the tournament.

"This is a result that should wake the players up. We're seeing the same mistakes again, especially on the wings. We'll have to work hard because we'll be facing this type of team: fast, incisive, and difficult to beat," he emphasized.

According to Gernot Rohr, Benin faced a team that is bigger and higher in the FIFA rankings (63rd).
