Benin defender Olivier Verdon makes a fresh start in Israel
The Benin international defender has signed for Maccabi Netanya, a club in the Israeli top flight.
After six seasons in the Bulgarian league, Olivier Verdon parted ways with Ludogorets Razgrad a few days ago. But the Beninese centre-back did not remain out of work for long.
Olivier Verdon has quickly turned a new page in his professional career. He has found a new club in the Israeli professional league.
The Benin international has joined Maccabi Netanya, an Israeli top-flight club. The 30-year-old defender has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year with his new club.
He will therefore represent Maccabi Netanya until June 2028. Having played in France, Belgium, Spain and Bulgaria, the Benin international is set to take on a new challenge in the Israeli league. The 30-year-old centre-back is expected to put his experience to good use at his new club in Israel.
