José Mourinho took charge of Benfica during the course of this season, but he is set to leave the club and return as Real Madrid’s head coach. It has now emerged who will take over the Eagles in his place.
Details: According to Sacha Tavolieri, the new manager of the Portuguese giants will be Marco Silva. The club have reached an agreement with the Fulham boss, who favoured a return to his homeland. An official announcement is expected in the coming days.
Meanwhile, José Mourinho and Real Madrid have reportedly reached a verbal agreement on all terms. He is set to sign a two-year contract and will travel to Madrid following the match between Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao.
Reminder: Real Madrid will pay around €7 million to terminate the coach’s contract early. For a managerial transfer, this is considered a significant fee.
