Benatia has become the sports director of Marseille

Medhi Benatia has been appointed as the sporting director of Marseille, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Negotiations spanned several weeks and have now concluded. Marseille is set to finalize all documents at the beginning of the upcoming week. In this role, Benatia will succeed the departed Javier Ribalta, the Spanish executive who left the club in October.
Medhi has been associated with Marseille since 2005, primarily featuring for the second team. Consequently, in the summer of 2006, he was loaned to Tours, where he spent a season, participating in 29 league matches. The subsequent season saw him on loan at Lorient, yet he struggled to break into the first team, making only one appearance across all competitions.
Additionally, he has had stints with Roma, Bayern Munich, and Juventus. Benatia concluded his professional career in November 2021, with Fatih Karagümrük being his final club.
