Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has harshly criticized Marcus Rashford, claiming the forward isn’t even worth £10 million.

Details: Speaking on the Cycling GK podcast, Foster stated that Rashford "shows up once every 10 games" and argued that modern football doesn’t have room for a top player who performs so inconsistently. He also suggested that, given Rashford’s current form, he wouldn’t attract interest from top-tier clubs like Arsenal.

Quote: "His day comes once every 10 games," Foster said. "It’s really once every 10 games, and in the modern game, you can’t afford to have a luxury player who delivers one in 10. It’s that simple."

Foster’s criticism stems from Rashford’s significant dip in performance after a stellar 2022/23 season in which he was one of United’s best players. Since signing a £325,000-per-week contract in the summer of 2023, Rashford has struggled to replicate his previous form, scoring just 12 Premier League goals over a season and a half.

Foster also speculated that Rashford’s lack of motivation might be linked to his lucrative wages and the security of his long-term contract. He expressed doubts about Rashford regaining his top form, suggesting that the fire within him had faded.

The situation has worsened recently, as Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim excluded Rashford from the squad for the Manchester derby against City. Amorim cited dissatisfaction with both Rashford’s performances and attitude in training.

In response, Rashford declared he was ready for a new challenge, fueling rumors of a potential January exit. Foster is convinced that leaving the club would be the best option for the forward.

Quote: "He needs to leave Manchester United. I think it’s going to be a move to MLS or something similar. He’ll have to take a big pay cut," Foster concluded.

Reminder: Manchester United's last three matches have been played without Marcus Rashford, who hasn’t even made the squad. However, United manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear that this is not related to Rashford's recent statements.
