Belgian Midfielder Hails Osimhen as One of Football’s Most Complete Strikers
Belgian midfielder Gaëtan Hendrickx has described Victor Osimhen as the most complete striker he has ever played with, praising the Nigerian’s rare blend of power, speed and technique. Hendrickx, who featured alongside Osimhen during their time at Charleroi, said the Super Eagles forward showed signs of becoming a global star very early in his career.
Osimhen has enjoyed remarkable success in recent years. He fired Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years and finished as the league’s top scorer. After joining Galatasaray on loan, he repeated the feat by helping the Turkish giants win both the league and the cup while again finishing as top scorer.
Reflecting on Osimhen’s qualities, Hendrickx told RTBF: “I have rarely seen such a complete striker… Victor had everything: power, speed, depth, technique, stamina, jumping ability, and heading. Everything!”
He also recalled how their former manager, Felice Mazzu, predicted the Nigerian forward’s rise. “Take a good look at this one, because one day he’ll play for the biggest clubs in the world!” Mazzu had said. Hendrickx admitted he “chuckled a bit… and we saw what happened next.”
He added that Osimhen’s athleticism and instinctive technique made him capable of “doing crazy things,” often controlling passes that seemed impossible to bring down.
