Because he didn’t pass to Mbappé? Mastantuono sidelined for three straight matches
Real Madrid slipped to defeat in their latest outing, surrendering top spot to Barcelona — and now the first conspiracy theory surrounding the Madrid giants has emerged.
Details: Argentine winger Franco Mastantuono has failed to feature in three consecutive matches, registering zero minutes on the pitch. Supporters on social media suspect the reason may be his decision not to pass to Kylian Mbappé in a key moment.
In the clash against Valencia, Mastantuono opted to shoot rather than square the ball to Mbappé, who was calling for the pass in a better position. The French forward, visibly frustrated, admonished the Argentine for not laying it off.
Since that incident, Mastantuono has not made another appearance.
In their previous match, Real Madrid fell 1–2 to Osasuna and subsequently dropped to second place. After 25 rounds, Los Blancos have 60 points, trailing Barça by a single point.
Reminder: Before the kickoff of the La Liga Matchday 25 showdown between Osasuna and Real Madrid, all eyes were on Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian winger found himself the target of the home supporters’ hostility.
