Bayern's new head coach has already flown to Munich
Bayern Munich is likely to officially announce the appointment of Vincent Kompany as head coach in the coming hours.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Belgian specialist has already arrived in Munich and will sign a contract with the club today, lasting until the summer of 2027.
Previously, Bayern's chairman confirmed negotiations with Kompany, stating that Pep Guardiola played a significant role in the selection of the new coach.
Bayern had previously been turned down by Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick. The club also attempted to continue negotiations with Thomas Tuchel, but those talks failed as well.
Kompany has been managing Burnley since the summer of 2022. Under his leadership, Burnley won the Championship decisively but was relegated from the Premier League after finishing 19th in the concluded season.
It should be noted that Bayern Munich finished the Bundesliga season in third place.
