Bayern Munich are already mapping out their goalkeeping plans for the possible end of the Manuel Neuer era.

Details: According to TEAMtalk, the German giants are considering a move for Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno ahead of next summer. The 34-year-old German is said to be one of several experienced options being assessed in Munich as the club prepares for the possibility of Neuer retiring at the end of the season. Recent reports from Sky Germany have also placed Leno among Bayern's goalkeeper candidates.

The situation could become particularly interesting because Leno's current agreement with Fulham runs only until June 30, 2027. The London club do, however, hold an option to extend the goalkeeper's contract for another 12 months, meaning Bayern would still potentially need to negotiate with the Cottagers.

Neuer's future has not yet been officially decided. Bayern extended the legendary goalkeeper's contract until June 30, 2027 in May, but several German reports expect the 2026/27 campaign could be his final season. The Munich side are therefore already examining different scenarios for their goalkeeping department rather than waiting for a definitive retirement announcement.

It is worth noting that Leno remains Fulham's first-choice goalkeeper this season. According to the club's official statistics, the German has played all five of their league matches so far, completing 450 minutes, making 16 saves and recording one clean sheet.
