Bayern Munich's Move for Liverpool Wonderkid Rio Ngumoha Collapses Despite Verbal Agreement

Bayern Munich reportedly came close to signing highly-rated Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha before negotiations unexpectedly broke down.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Ngumoha was the mystery player Bayern had been working on behind the scenes for several weeks. The Bundesliga champions are said to have reached a full verbal agreement with the 17-year-old and his representatives on May 26.

The talented Liverpool prospect was reportedly identified as a priority attacking option for Bayern, viewed as a potential alternative to Luis Díaz while the club also continued its pursuit of other transfer targets.

However, despite the progress made in talks with the player, the deal collapsed on Thursday, bringing the move to a halt for the time being. It remains unclear whether Bayern will revisit the transfer in the future.
