Bayern Munich plans to extend Manuel Neuer's contract
Despite his age and injuries, Bayern Munich intends to offer a contract extension to their goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer.
Details: According to Süddeutsche Zeitung, the plan to extend the contract with their legendary goalkeeper has already been agreed upon within the club’s leadership. It is also believed that the likelihood of Neuer deciding to retire voluntarily is "less than 1%."
Currently, Bayern does not feel the need to change their goalkeeper position. The leadership understands that Neuer is no longer in the running for being the world’s best goalkeeper, but they believe he can still have a solid season ahead.
Reminder: The German Football Association (DFB) has announced the suspension terms for the experienced goalkeeper. Neuer is banned for two matches in the DFB Cup. The punishment does not apply to the Bundesliga.
Neuer’s contract with Bayern is valid until 2025. If the agreement is extended, the goalkeeper will be required to miss two DFB Cup matches in the next season.
