Bayern Munich has decided on the future of England national team defender Eric Dier, who was loaned from Tottenham until the end of the season.

According to journalist David Ornstein, Dier's loan agreement with the Munich club included an option to extend the contract for 12 months. Bayern has chosen to activate this option.

As a result, the 30-year-old English defender will continue to play for the German club at least until the end of the 2024/25 season. Dier's contract with Tottenham expires in the summer, so there will be no additional fees for the player.

Since moving from England, the defender has played six matches for Thomas Tuchel's team in the Bundesliga.

Earlier reports indicated that Bayern was interested in a promising central defender from Benfica in Lisbon.

The Munich team currently occupies second place in the German league table, trailing Bayer by eight points.
