Bayern Munich has taken a firm stance regarding the participation of their defender Alphonso Davies in the upcoming World Cup.

Details: According to Stefan Kumberger, the club will not allow the player or the Canadian Football Federation to independently decide on his readiness for the tournament. Munich’s mistrust stems from a scandalous incident in March 2025, when an incorrect diagnosis by the national team doctors regarding an ACL injury nearly ended the footballer’s career.

The German powerhouse’s management has set a series of strict conditions, stipulating that the recovery process and the final decision on Davies’ clearance to play must be handled exclusively by the club’s medical staff.

Bayern is convinced that only their specialists have the necessary expertise to guarantee the player’s safety. After last year’s diagnostic fiasco in Canada, the Munich club is no longer willing to risk their valuable asset for the sake of the national team’s interests.

Reminder: Bayern legend remains at the club for another season.
