Bayern director commented on the situation with the playing time of summer newcomer Palhinha

Bayern Munich's sporting director Christoph Freund has addressed the limited playing time of the club's summer signing, João Palhinha.

Since joining Bayern this summer, the Portuguese midfielder has only played 126 minutes across three Bundesliga matches.

Quote: “We are actually very, very happy with Palhinha. He will definitely be important for us. We have many games ahead. He keeps a positive attitude and is training well,” Freund told Abendzeitung.

Reminder: Bayern had been working on Palhinha's transfer since last year. On the final day of the 2023 summer transfer window, the midfielder was already in Munich and had completed his medical, but the deal fell through. However, Bayern managed to finalize the move this summer.

The 29-year-old signed a contract until July 30, 2028. Unofficial reports suggest that the transfer cost Bayern around €51 million.
