Bayern Munich is determined not to repeat the situation with Alphonso Davies, who could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2025. The club has therefore decided to secure the future of one of its key players.

Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern has made a final decision to extend the contract of central defender Dayot Upamecano.

The Frenchman’s current contract with the Munich club runs until the summer of 2026, and the new deal will keep him at Bayern for an additional two years.

Bayern’s new head coach, Vincent Kompany, holds Upamecano in high regard and has asked the club's management to ensure the defender stays with the team.

This season, Upamecano has made 15 appearances for Bayern and scored one goal.

Reminder: Bayern recently set a defensive milestone by securing clean sheets in four consecutive Bundesliga matches for the first time in six years.
