Bayer has no intention of parting ways with their primary right-back Jeremie Frimpong, in January, as per journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Leverkusen club aims to contend for victory in the German championship and is not looking to release Frimpong or any other crucial players during the winter transfer window.

The opportunity for potential acquisition of the player will arise in the summer when the option to buy the footballer's contract for €40 million becomes effective. Frimpong's current agreement with Bayer extends until June 30, 2028.

Previously, interest in the Dutch defender had been expressed by several top clubs, including Bayern Munich and London's Arsenal.

This season, the 23-year-old right-back has appeared in 22 matches for Bayer, scoring seven goals and providing ten assists.

Bayer is currently leading the Bundesliga standings, unbeaten in the season under the leadership of coach Xabi Alonso. Their next match will be against Augsburg away on January 13th.
