Battle of European titans for Bundesliga talent: Barcelona joins the race for Jeltsch

Barcelona have made a serious approach for the signing of Stuttgart’s 20-year-old centre-back Finn Jeltsch, whose candidacy has been personally approved by the Catalan giants’ head coach, Hansi Flick.

Details: According to the respected Spanish outlet diario SPORT, the German coach sees his young compatriot as the ideal long-term addition to Barcelona’s defensive line. However, the Catalan side will have to withstand fierce competition from Real Madrid and Liverpool, who are also actively working on a deal for the highly gifted centre-back.

The main financial threat to Barcelona comes from the Premier League, with Liverpool’s hierarchy ready to offer a substantial £43 million for the young German defender. Given the club’s strict financial constraints, Barcelona’s chiefs will have to rely on Flick’s influence to convince the player to move to the Catalan capital.

It is worth noting that Finn Jeltsch caught the attention of top clubs’ scouting departments after a series of triumphant performances for Germany’s youth national team, winning World and European Championship gold at under-17 level. His impressive physical attributes, reliable positioning and composed passing out from the back have enabled the young defender to quickly adapt to the pace of the German Bundesliga and emerge as one of the most sought-after defenders of his generation.
