Battle between a Turkish club and an Emirati club for Riyad Mahrez
A free agent since leaving Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, the 35-year-old Algerian forward is attracting a great deal of interest.
Riyad Mahrez could soon be taking on a new challenge. The former Manchester City player has caught the eye of a club in the UAE Pro League League and another in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Algerian striker is reportedly in advanced talks with Al-Wahda. The Emirati club is interested in Mahrez’s profile and would like to bring him into their ranks.
However, just as negotiations appeared to be progressing, a new suitor has entered the fray. According to L’Equipe, Corum FK have reportedly approached Riyad Mahrez with a substantial salary offer. The newly promoted Turkish Super Lig side are hoping to make a big splash by attracting the experienced Algerian forward.
Corum FK is therefore aiming to convince Mahrez to join the Turkish league. The club is looking to get ahead of Al-Wahda and secure the services of the 35-year-old Algerian striker.
However, the final decision rests with Riyad Mahrez, who is free to sign for whichever club he wishes.
