Yesterday, the entire football world was deeply concerned for Hungarian national team and Ferencváros striker Barnabás Varga. During the match against Scotland (1:0), the player collided with goalkeeper Angus Gunn and lost consciousness. He was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Following the incident, Hungary's head coach Marco Rossi announced that Varga had suffered fractures to his facial bones, with significant damage to his jaw.

Today, Barnabás Varga's father provided an update on the striker's condition:

"My wife and I are waiting for news from his girlfriend. The surgery has already been performed, and he is conscious. Barney’s girlfriend will provide updates on his condition as needed. It is still unknown when he will be discharged from the hospital in Stuttgart and how much time he will miss".

It is worth noting that the Hungarian national team clinched a last-second victory over Scotland, finishing third in Group A. Marco Rossi's team still has a chance to advance to the playoffs.

The 29-year-old Barnabás Varga is Ferencváros' top scorer. In the past season, he netted 29 goals in 40 matches.
