The transfer of Vitor Roque could have been beneficial for Barcelona, but for entirely different reasons, the Brazilian did not justify the investment. Xavi kept him on the bench for most of the second half of the season, while the player's agent demanded either playing time or a transfer.
Now, the 19-year-old Brazilian is eager to impress Hansi Flick and returned to the club several weeks before the start of pre-season training to improve his physical condition.
Nevertheless, Barcelona is still interested in either loaning him out or selling him. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina has contacted Barcelona about a potential transfer, inquiring about the terms of the deal.
What Barcelona plans to do with Roque remains entirely unclear. It is evident that there is no unanimous opinion yet on whether he is good enough to become a key figure in the upcoming season, although his performances in the matches he participated in were decent, even if he sometimes lacked finesse.
