Barcelona had a rather successful preseason tour in the United States. During their preparation for the season, the Catalans defeated Real Madrid, won a penalty shootout against Manchester City, and narrowly lost to AC Milan, also in a penalty shootout.

One of Barcelona's standout players during the tour was unexpectedly 22-year-old forward Pau Víctor, who had previously played exclusively for Barça Athletic, the club's second team. He impressed with 3 goals and 1 assist.

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona initially planned to loan Pau Víctor out or even sell him with a buy-back option in August. However, the club’s new head coach, Hansi Flick, has changed that decision. The German coach has decided to keep Pau Víctor in Barcelona's first team.

Under Flick's guidance, Pau Víctor is expected to become the backup forward to Robert Lewandowski.

This development significantly diminishes the chances of Brazilian forward Vitor Roque remaining with the team for the upcoming season, as the club is now planning to sell him.

In 35 matches last season in Segunda B (Spain's third division), Pau Víctor scored 18 goals and provided 5 assists.
