Barcelona want to open talks with Álvarez, but Atlético Madrid oppose the move

Barcelona are strongly interested in signing Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid, but the deal could face major obstacles due to the Madrid side’s stance.

Details: According to Veronica Brunati, Barcelona representatives want to open negotiations with Álvarez’s agents. However, Atlético Madrid are against this approach and have no intention of selling the Argentine striker, as they are counting on him for the 2026/27 season.

Barcelona understand that, at present, Atlético are not willing to negotiate under these conditions. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation.
