Barcelona sporting director Deco confirms club wants to extend Szczęsny’s contract
Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has settled in well at Barcelona, and the club is seriously considering keeping him for next season.
Details: Barcelona sporting director Deco confirmed that the club will soon offer the experienced goalkeeper a new contract.
Quote:
“If he’s happy, he should be considered because Wojciech can give us a lot next year. I don’t know his plans yet. We haven’t spoken, but we will definitely have a conversation soon.”
At the end of last season, Szczęsny announced his retirement, but he returned to action after receiving an offer from Barcelona, which was left without its first-choice goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen.
Reminder: Yesterday, Barcelona announced the contract extension of 18-year-old central defender Pau Cubarsí.
