Barcelona has taken the first step toward signing one of the brightest talents in the French league.
Details: According to FootAfrica, Barcelona representatives have already held preliminary talks with the entourage of Strasbourg’s 20-year-old winger Gessime Yassine. The young Moroccan only burst onto the European scene in January, but his raw talent is already turning heads.
Reports indicate that initial contacts with the player’s representatives have taken place, with both sides gauging the possibility of a summer transfer. The Catalan giants are eager to move quickly, knowing that a strong season finale from Yassine could drive up his price tag and attract Premier League interest. Strasbourg, for now, is reluctant to part ways with their newfound gem, but a lucrative offer from the Blaugrana could sway the French club’s stance.
If negotiations progress smoothly, Yassine could make the switch to Catalonia as early as this summer.
Notably, the Moroccan has featured in just seven matches across all competitions this season and is yet to register a goal or assist. Transfermarkt currently values the player at €6 million.
