Barcelona are actively searching for reinforcements on the left flank of their attack and have identified Lyon’s young talent Malick Fofana as a top priority for the summer transfer window.
Details: According to Diario Sport, the Catalans are already in contact with the player’s representatives and are closely monitoring the situation at the French club, which may be forced to sell its star due to financial difficulties.
Initially, Barcelona planned to trigger the buyout clause for Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan, but the deal has been complicated by the Englishman’s high salary and Manchester United’s €30 million asking price. As a result, if negotiations for Rashford collapse, the club is ready to bet on the 20-year-old Fofana, whom scouts rate as one of the most promising wingers in Europe.
Fofana joined Lyon from Gent in January 2024 for €19.5 million and has already made 12 appearances this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the winger.
Reminder: Jules Koundé left Barcelona training due to injury and may miss the match against Celta.
