Catalan giants Barcelona are actively scouring the market for reinforcements as they navigate strict financial fair play rules and tight budget constraints.
Details: According to Diario SPORT, the Blaugrana's shortlist has surprisingly featured the name of Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankov. The 28-year-old Girona leader is being considered by the Barcelona board as the perfect alternative to strengthen the attacking line, offering a cost-effective solution that would free up funds for other high-profile signings.
Head coach Hansi Flick views the Ukrainian as an ideal team player and a true utility "joker." Tsygankov is not the type to stir up drama over limited playing time, yet he boasts the versatility to cover four attacking roles: both flanks (where he can deputize for Lamine Yamal), the playmaker position, and even as a false nine—a role he has already excelled in under Míchel at Girona.
Reports indicate that Viktor has formally notified Girona's management that his chapter at the club is over, especially in light of the team's relegation to the Segunda. Thanks to a gentleman's agreement, the Ukrainian has the right to leave the club as a free agent, with no transfer fee required.
Despite being able to sign the player for free, Barcelona is determined to maintain a strong relationship with their neighbors. As compensation for Girona’s new project in the Segunda, they may offer several promising youngsters from the famed La Masia academy on loan.
Recall: Barcelona have already found a replacement for Julián Álvarez in the Premier League.
