Catalan giants Barcelona are stepping up their efforts in negotiations with Inter Milan for defender Alessandro Bastoni.
Details: According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blaugrana are planning to include their young talent Héctor Fort in the deal to bring down the asking price for the Italian centre-back.
At the moment, Inter value Bastoni at €60 million. Given Barcelona's financial constraints, paying that amount in straight cash is extremely difficult.
The club's management hopes that including 19-year-old Fort—who has shone this season—in the transfer will significantly reduce the cash component of the deal and persuade the Milanese side to part with one of their key players.
It's worth noting that this season Fort is out on loan at Elche, where he has made twelve appearances across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
Reminder: It has become known whether Real Madrid will give Barcelona a guard of honour.
