Atlético Madrid completed the signing of Juan Álvarez from Manchester City in the summer of 2024. The Argentine has since become a true leader of the team — and now another La Liga rival wants to secure his signature.

Details: According to The Athletic, Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to sign Juan Álvarez.

Earlier we reported that 45-year-old former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi attended an event where Víctor Font, Laporta’s main opponent in the upcoming Barcelona presidential elections, presented his campaign programme.

Font leads a coalition called Nosaltres, which stands as one of the frontrunners in the upcoming elections.

Reminder: Barcelona’s young sensation Lamine Yamal held a private party at Luz de Gas in Barcelona, even while he was recovering from a groin injury.
