The deal could go through as early as this summer.
Details: According to journalist and insider Ekrem Konur on his page in social network X, Catalan giants Barcelona are seriously planning to open negotiations with 31-year-old Manchester City and Portugal attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva, aiming to convince him not to sign a new contract with the Citizens and instead make the switch to Barça.
Silva’s contract with Manchester City runs until the summer of 2026, and the Barcelona board hopes to capitalize on the opportunity to land a player of Silva’s caliber on a free transfer.
In Catalonia, they realize that securing Silva’s move in the winter transfer window is impossible, but the Blaugrana are plotting a pre-contract agreement with Silva, which would become official this summer.
This season, Bernardo Silva has played 29 matches for the club, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at 27 million euros.
