Barcelona is looking to offer a new contract to their star player

Barcelona continues to work on retaining their key players.

According to football insider Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona's management intends to offer a new contract to midfielder Pedri. It is expected that negotiations will take place at the end of the season.

Pedri's current agreement with Barcelona runs until June 2026 - which is two seasons from now.

Pedri, who hails from Las Palmas, moved to the Catalan capital in 2019. In the current season, the 21-year-old Spanish midfielder has scored 2 goals and provided 5 assists in 25 matches for Barcelona across all competitions. Transfermarkt values the player at 80 million euros.

Barcelona is currently in second place in La Liga, trailing Real Madrid by 8 points.

Earlier reports suggested that Barcelona's young talent could move to a European giant.
