Barcelona held talks with Brazil national team striker
Catalan giants Barcelona have ramped up their search for attacking reinforcements and are showing serious interest in Chelsea forward João Pedro.
Details: According to ESPN Brasil, Barcelona representatives have already held preliminary talks with the player's camp to explore the possibility of a move to Spain.
The interest in the Brazilian emerged after Barcelona's management realized just how difficult it would be to sign their top target, Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid. Understanding that landing the Argentine would be nearly impossible, the Catalans shifted their focus to alternative options, with João Pedro now at the top of the shortlist.
Despite the interest from the La Liga powerhouse, a deal currently looks unlikely. The player himself is not yet ready to enter into active negotiations, and Chelsea are expected to reject any official offers for his transfer, considering him a key part of their project.
It’s worth noting that this season, the Brazilian striker has made 46 appearances for the London club across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 9 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the player at €75 million.
Reminder: Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has decided to continue his career at Barcelona.
