Barcelona has managed to resolve its managerial situation, with Xavi remaining in the coaching seat for the next season. However, the team's new problem revolves around their plans for the upcoming transfer window, which could prove to be quite challenging.

The financial constraints in Barcelona limit their ability to make new signings. To acquire expensive players, they will have to part ways with some of their own. Earlier, we reported that Barcelona could fetch over €200m by selling just three players.

Xavi has identified the main target for the upcoming offseason. The Spanish coach aims to have a new defensive midfielder in his team. Barcelona has set its sights on Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich and Everton's star, Amadou Onana.

Acquiring either of these players will come at a significant cost for Barcelona. According to data from the statistical portal Transfermarkt, Kimmich's contract is valued at €60 million, while Onana's is €10 million less. However, it's worth considering that these prices are likely not final, and clubs may demand a higher fee for their key players.

Barcelona has a backup plan in case they fail to sign Kimmich or Onana. They are also considering Guido Rodriguez from Real Betis, whose contract expires at the end of the season, making him available for a free transfer in the summer. Additionally, Barcelona is pleased with the performances of Andreas Christensen in the defensive midfield position over the past few months and may utilize him in that role.
