Barcelona have opened talks over a new contract for the young midfielder

Barcelona's management aims to retain their young central midfielder, Marc Casado, within the team.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the club has initiated negotiations with Casado regarding a contract extension. His current contract expires in June 2024, with the club having an automatic one-year extension option. However, Barcelona intends to secure a long-term contract with the 20-year-old player until the summer of 2027.

In the upcoming season, should Rafa Marquez lead Barcelona B instead of Xavi, Casado will play an important role in the club's main team.
