Barcelona have lost interest in two potential successors to Xavi

One of Barcelona's main tasks at the moment is to find a worthy replacement for Xavi and all efforts have been thrown at this very thing. Various candidates are being considered, but two of them have cooled somewhat at the Camp Nou.

Sport reports that the likelihood of Hans-Dieter Flick and Roberto De Zerbi being employed by Barcelona has somewhat diminished, but it is not zero. Catalan club bosses have questions for each of the candidates.

Flick's position is somewhat diminished by his lack of significant experience despite his success at Bayern. Also not the main issue, but still an issue, is the language problem. Someone who speaks Spanish will be preferred.

As for De Zerbi, his style of football is favoured at Barcelona, but there are doubts whether the Italian will be able to adapt to Catalonia in the right way, and it is believed that his success has been more at the level of the game than the result.

It is also noted that Roberto feels comfortable if he takes the whole situation at the club into his own hands, and this will be quite difficult to ensure in Barcelona.
