It seems Barcelona are warming up to the idea of replacing their once-undisputed number one, Marc-André ter Stegen, and not relying solely on Wojciech Szczęsny. And now, suitable alternatives have emerged.

Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club remains intent on signing Espanyol’s shot-stopper Joan García. At one point, it was believed the player might refuse a move to the camp of his club’s fiercest adversaries, but García hasn’t closed the door on Barcelona entirely.

The key factor is that García is determined to choose the best sporting option for himself, aiming to bolster his chances of a national team call-up. And the Espanyol keeper has no shortage of suitors: Arsenal, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Bayer, Napoli, and Inter have all shown interest in the Barcelona-based club’s goalkeeper.

Reminder: Earlier reports suggested that the Blaugrana hierarchy were dissatisfied with ter Stegen’s performances and training levels following his recovery from a serious knee injury. If he fails to convince the coaching staff, there is a real chance the German keeper could be sold.
