Barcelona are currently involved in legal proceedings related to the Negreira case, and not long ago they were at real risk of being excluded from the UEFA Champions League because of it.
Details: According to El Confidencial, the Catalan club could have been left without Europe’s premier club competition. UEFA were considering fining Barcelona €60 million, rather than just €15 million, for financial irregularities. Such a sanction would have jeopardised the club’s return to Camp Nou.
However, Barcelona were spared thanks to Joan Laporta’s decision to withdraw from the Super League project and realign the club with UEFA. This move helped the club avoid further punishment from the governing body.
We also previously reported that Barcelona’s 37-year-old striker Robert Lewandowski has received an official offer from Inter Miami. Reports indicate that the MLS club have proposed that Robert join the team in the summer of 2026.
Reminder: It is reported that Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman is preparing a sensational offer for the Catalan club.
