Barcelona considering signing scandal-plagued Man United forward

Barcelona may strengthen their attack in the summer with Getafe's forward Mason Greenwood, whose rights belong to Manchester United.

As reported by Diario Sport, Barcelona sees Greenwood as an affordable and high-quality option to reinforce their attack. The cost is particularly crucial for the Catalan club, which is facing serious financial fair play issues.

It was previously revealed that Manchester United is willing to part ways with 21 players, including Greenwood, in the summer.

The contract of the 22-year-old forward with the Red Devils runs until the summer of 2025. In the current season, he has scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists in 26 matches across all competitions.

Recall that on the morning of January 30, 2022, there were reports on social media that Greenwood assaulted model Harriet Robson. Manchester United issued a statement stating that Greenwood was suspended from training and matches. On the same day, Greater Manchester Police arrested Greenwood on suspicion of rape and assault.

In February 2022, Greenwood was released on bail. A year later, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that all charges against Greenwood were dropped due to the withdrawal of key witnesses and the emergence of new evidence.
