Barcelona has released an official medical report, delivering a heavy blow to the coaching staff and fans alike.
Details: The Blaugrana’s star winger, Rafinha, will be out for at least five weeks after sustaining an injury while on duty with the Brazilian national team. Tests conducted in conjunction with the Brazilian Football Confederation have confirmed that the player has suffered a hamstring injury in his right leg.
The injury came at the worst possible moment—during a high-profile friendly against France in Boston last Thursday. Rafinha felt discomfort in the first half and was substituted at halftime.
"The player returns to Barcelona to immediately begin appropriate treatment under the supervision of the club’s medical staff," Barcelona’s statement read.
This means the Brazilian will certainly miss the season’s decisive stretch, including crucial La Liga fixtures.
Reminder: Barcelona categorically refuses to pay for Marcus Rashford. Manchester United has already found other suitors for Rashford.
