Barcelona changes its mind about signing Jonathan David: alternative targets named
Barcelona has lost interest in signing Lille striker Jonathan David. Robert Lewandowski is already nearing the end of his career, and because of this, the Catalan club is looking for a replacement.
Details. According to Spanish outlet MD, David, whose contract with Lille expires next summer, was considered one of the potential candidates. However, the Barcelona management believes that the Canadian forward does not fit the required profile to replace Lewandowski.
Currently, Barcelona already has Vitor Roque in the squad, whose future at the club after his loan at Betis remains uncertain. The Catalan club also considered options with Viktor Dzyukeres and Alexander Isak, but transfers for these players would be too expensive.
Reminder. Robert Lewandowski is having a fairly good season, scoring 23 goals in 24 matches for Barcelona. However, despite this, the striker often faces criticism from fans.
