Barcelona are searching for a new centre-back

Barcelona currently sit top of the La Liga table, but the team have issues in defence, prompting the club to look for a new defender.

Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are in the market for a new centre-back. Head coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco are currently assessing potential options. They are targeting a player with extensive experience, strong leadership qualities and, preferably, a Latin American profile to avoid any language barrier.

As we reported earlier, centre-back Marc Guéhi has very high salary demands, and Barcelona are not prepared to meet those terms. As a result, a move to the Catalan club should not be expected.

Reminder: Ansu Fati’s future at Monaco is effectively decided, as the club have opted not to keep the 23-year-old Spaniard in their squad.
