Barcelona are considering reinforcements at the back, with a particular focus on bringing in a new left-sided defender. The Catalan club have already settled on their preferred option.

Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayer Leverkusen full-back Álex Grimaldo has emerged as the leading candidate for the left-back role. His contract includes a buyout clause worth between €15 million and €20 million, a figure applicable specifically to Spanish clubs in the summer window.

It was also reported earlier that Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck tops the club’s broader shortlist. Head coach Hansi Flick views him as an ideal fit for his defensive setup and is keen to bring the German international into the squad.

Reminder: Joan García has fully recovered from his injury and is now training without any restrictions.
