Barcelona and Girona are discussing deals for three players at once
Last season, Girona delivered phenomenal results, earning the bronze medals in La Liga. Their impressive performance has caught the eye of many clubs, drawing attention to players from what was once a relatively obscure team. Currently, Bayer Leverkusen has signed Girona's captain Aleix Garcia, several clubs are eyeing the Pichichi Trophy winner, and some players have had to return to their parent clubs.
In response to these departures, Girona is actively seeking alternatives and planning negotiations with their neighbors. The two Catalan clubs, Girona and Barcelona, are separated by only about 100 kilometers, which could facilitate potential deals for three players.
According to Diario AS, Girona has already initiated talks with Barcelona regarding Pau Víctor, Oriol Romeu, and Eric García.
Pau Víctor is under contract with Girona but played for Barcelona's reserve team, Barça Atlètic, last season. Barcelona sees potential in him and wants to keep him in their team for another year.
Oriol Romeu moved to Barcelona last season but failed to earn the trust of Xavi Hernández, often appearing only as a substitute towards the end of matches.
Eric García spent a year on loan at Girona and played a crucial role in their successful season. The La Liga bronze medalists want him back, considering him an integral part of their team. Although Barcelona's new coach, Hansi Flick, reportedly sees a role for García in his plans, another loan spell at Girona is not off the table.
Currently, there are no definitive decisions from either club regarding any of these players, but it is highly likely that we will see several transfers between the two Catalan teams this summer.
