Bamo Meïte is expected to return to Marseille at the end of his loan spell
Lorient are reportedly unable to exercise the option to buy the Ivorian defender.
Loaned by Marseille to Lorient in the summer of 2025, Bamo Meïte is expected to return to the Vélodrome when his contract expires on 30 June. This return is not necessarily linked to the Ivorian player’s performances, but rather to Lorient. The club reportedly does not have the necessary funds to exercise Meïte’s buy-out clause.
Also, Marseille wish to bring the 24-year-old defender back to give him a chance next season. His performances at Lorient during his loan spell this season have not been disappointing. Bamo Meïte has played 24 matches and provided three assists this season in Ligue 1.
The Ivorian centre-back is under contract with the Marseille club until 2028.
