The teams for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifications, which South Africa and Egypt will play on February 28 and March 9, have been announced. Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda will co-host the CHAN finals in August 2025, and the aggregate winner will play either Malawi or Comoros in May.
South Africa’s 23-man squad, announced on Friday, includes a strong presence from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

- Goalkeepers: Samukelo Xulu, Jody February, Sphamandla Gumede.
- Defenders: Aden McCarthy, Bilal Baloyi, Yandisa Mfolozi, Tylon Smith, Athenkosi Mcaba, Nduduzo Mhlongo, Terrence Mashego, Bongani Sam.
- Midfielders: Sammy Seabi, Azola Tshobeni, Neo Maema, Yanga Madiba, Donay Jansen, Jamie Webber.
- Forwards: Keletso Sifama, Tendamudzimu Matodzi, Thulani Mini, Kutlwano Letlhaku, Monnapule Saleng.
South Africa hosts Egypt on February 28 at Free State Stadium before heading to Ismailia for the return leg on March 9.
Newly appointed coach Wael Riad has named a 26-man squad composed entirely of Egyptian Premier League players.
