During the international break, rumors swirled that Manchester United's head coach, Erik ten Hag, could lose his position. However, the Dutchman took a brief holiday, perhaps sensing his job was secure, a fact confirmed after the weekend.

Details: Sky Sports reports that Ten Hag returned to United’s Carrington base on Monday to resume work with the team. The break was extended not only to himself but also to players who weren’t on international duty, who have now rejoined the club.

Reminder: There were previous reports that Ten Hag could be dismissed if United failed to win against Porto and Aston Villa. It’s now known that his position could be in jeopardy if the team loses to Brentford or Fenerbahçe. In such a case, his assistant, Ruud van Nistelrooy, is expected to serve as interim head coach.
